How to check and claim your Crompton warranty in India (2026)

Crompton's warranty runs from the purchase date and often differs by part: a geyser's tank, heating element and overall product each have their own term. How to register, check and claim in India.

How to claim a Crompton warranty in India: split terms and the four-step path A two-panel diagram for claiming a Crompton warranty in India. The left panel shows that one storage geyser carries three warranties: the product is covered for two years, the heating element for three years and the tank for seven years, using the Solarium Neo as the example, so by year four only a tank fault is still covered. The right panel shows the claim path in four steps: register the product with the warranty card and an OTP, check the warranty status with the model code and purchase date, raise a complaint and note the service ticket ID, and have an authorised technician repair or replace the defective parts. A red callout lists what voids the warranty: unauthorised installation or repair, misuse or physical damage, and lightning or lime-scale. A closing strip notes that one product can carry up to three expiry dates, each running from the purchase date, so keep the invoice and the warranty card. Crompton makes many of the things that run an Indian home: fans, geysers, water pumps, air coolers, mixer grinders, chimneys and LED lights. So when one stops working (a fan that hums but won’t spin, a geyser that stops heating, a pump that won’t fill the overhead tank), the search is some version of “crompton warranty claim” or “crompton complaint”. The process is mostly online, but it has one twist that trips people up: the warranty is often not one number.

The most important fact up front: Crompton’s warranty runs from the date of purchase, the term depends on the exact model, and on many products it is split by part. A geyser’s tank, its heating element and the rest of the unit can each have a different expiry date. Keep the invoice and the warranty card, and know which part failed.

How to check your Crompton warranty status

The good news first: unlike some brands (Noise, for one), Crompton has an official warranty status check. On its support page at crompton.co.in/pages/customer-care, the Check Warranty Status tab asks for two things, the model code and the purchase date, and returns an estimated warranty expiry date.

The model code is the alphanumeric line at the top of the product label. Crompton’s own example reads CFHSHS48BRN1S, and the page has a “How to Find My Model Number?” picture if you’re unsure where to look.

Two honest caveats about that result:

  • It is an estimate based on the standard warranty for that model. Crompton’s own note on the page says the final warranty is subject to its terms and conditions, a physical inspection of the product, and proof of purchase.
  • It works from the date you type in. The date that counts is the one on your invoice, so read it from the bill, not from memory.

So the practical check is: find your invoice (an Amazon or Flipkart order, a crompton.co.in order, or the dealer’s GST bill), enter the model code and the invoice date under Check Warranty Status, then confirm which part’s term applies (the product, the motor, the tank or the heating element). That last step decides whether your specific fault is covered.

Crompton warranty period by product type

There is no single Crompton warranty period. Even Crompton’s Terms and Conditions of Warranty (a PDF linked from its chimney pages) say the period “varies based on the models” and runs from the date of purchase. On the product pages we checked on crompton.co.in in October 2026, the typical terms were:

  • Ceiling fans: most list 2 years. Premium lines such as Premion Aura 2 list 5 years, and BLDC models range from 2 to 5 years.
  • BLDC fans: often split between the motor and the PCB (the electronic board that drives the motor), for example 4 or 5 years on the motor and 2 or 3 years on the PCB.
  • Table, pedestal, wall-mounted and exhaust fans: 2 years.
  • Storage water heaters (geysers): split three ways, with 5 to 8 years on the tank, 2 to 4 years on the heating element and 2 years on the product.
  • Instant water heaters: typically 5 years on the tank, 2 years on the heating element and 2 years on the product.
  • Pumps: most residential and agricultural pumps list 1 year; some models list 18 or 24 months.
  • Mixer grinders: usually 2 years on the product, with 2 or 5 years on the motor depending on the model.
  • Kitchen chimneys: 1 to 4 years comprehensive, with 5 to 15 years on the motor (10 years on most models).
  • Air coolers, LED bulbs and battens: 1 year.

Two caveats: the biggest number on the box is often one part’s term, not the whole product’s (more on that below), and models change, so your own warranty card and invoice are the authority for your unit.

How to register and claim your Crompton warranty, step by step

The process is online-first: you can register the product, check its status and raise a service request from your phone, without visiting a service centre.

  1. Find your invoice, warranty card, model code and serial number. You need the original GST invoice showing the model and the date of purchase, and the warranty card from the box. Note the model code from the product label, and the serial number, because Crompton’s forms ask for both.
  2. Register the product. On crompton.co.in/pages/customer-care, open Warranty Registration and verify your mobile with an OTP. Enter your address, the product and model code, the serial number, the purchase date and where you bought it. Uploading the warranty card is mandatory, and there’s a slot for the invoice too.
  3. Check the status and the part. Under Check Warranty Status, enter the model code and purchase date, then match your fault to the part-wise terms for your model.
  4. Raise a service request. Under Installation or Service Registration, verify by OTP, choose Consumer, pick Complaint as the service type, and describe the fault specifically (“geyser trips the MCB when switched on”, not “geyser problem”). Note the Service Ticket ID shown on screen. You can also call 9228880505 (9 AM to 6 PM, Monday to Saturday), WhatsApp 7428713838, or email [email protected].
  5. Let an authorised technician inspect it, at home or at a centre listed at crompton.co.in/pages/service-center, depending on the product. Show the invoice and warranty card. Under Crompton’s published warranty terms, a manufacturing defect is fixed by repairing or replacing the defective parts (its choice), and a replaced part is covered only for what’s left of the original warranty.
  6. Track it, and escalate if it stalls. Use Track Complaint with the complaint number or your mobile number. Those terms say Crompton will make every effort to repair at the earliest, but set no fixed timeline. If nothing moves, use the Complaints form on crompton.co.in/pages/contact, which asks for the Service Request ID; beyond that, the National Consumer Helpline is on 1915.

The split-warranty trap on Crompton geysers and BLDC fans

Take a Crompton storage geyser with a 7-year warranty. On the Solarium Neo’s product page, that 7 years is the tank. The heating element is covered for 3 years, and the product as a whole for 2. So in year four, a leaking tank can still be a warranty claim, but a fault in another part falls outside the warranty. The headline number is real; it just isn’t the whole unit.

BLDC fans work the same way. The Energion Niteo Pro, for example, lists 4 years on the motor and 2 years on the PCB. If the fan dies in year three, whether you’re covered depends on which of the two failed, and the technician’s diagnosis decides that. Even Crompton’s promotions follow the split: its scheme for fans bought in July 2025 added two years if you registered within 15 days with a valid invoice, but on BLDC fans the extra cover was motor only, excluding the PCB and remote.

The fix is simple: read the part-wise terms on your warranty card the day you install the product, and when you complain, describe the symptom and let the technician identify the part.

Common reasons Crompton warranty claims fail

The most detailed list of exclusions we found on Crompton’s website is its Terms and Conditions of Warranty, a PDF linked from its chimney pages (its warranty table lists chimney models). Your own product’s warranty card carries its own terms, so check it too. The big ones in that document:

  • No original invoice or warranty card. Crompton’s terms say that without the original GST invoice with the model number and/or the warranty card, service is still provided, but charged at standard labour and parts rates.
  • Installation or repair by someone else. The warranty does not apply if installation or repair is done by anyone other than Crompton’s authorised personnel, or if the product isn’t installed and used as the manual says. That matters most for anything that has to be fitted, like a chimney or a geyser.
  • Misuse, accident and physical damage. Misuse, negligence, accidents, scratches, breakages and unauthorised alterations are all out of cover.
  • Lightning, water pressure and transit. Damage from lightning, acts of God, abnormal water supply or pressure, transit from the dealer to your home, or shifting house is excluded.
  • Lime-scale and poor maintenance. Damage from dirt, lime-scale or aggressive cleaning chemicals, or from maintenance that ignores the user manual, is excluded. If you have a geyser in a hard-water area, note that Crompton’s own water-heater guide says scaling builds up on the heating rod, so service it regularly and check what its warranty card says about scaling.
  • Commercial use, second owners and consumables. Commercial use is excluded, and the warranty is for the first purchaser only, so it doesn’t pass to a new owner. Glass, washers, rubbers, springs, plastic items and other consumables aren’t covered unless the warranty table in the user manual lists them, and neither are external accessories.
  • Normal wear and tear. Ordinary wear and discolouration are not covered.

The warranty protects you against the factory getting it wrong, not against installation shortcuts, the water supply or the years. Use authorised technicians, follow the manual, and keep the paperwork.

The real problem: you’ll lose the invoice before it breaks

Notice how many of those failure modes come back to two pieces of paper. Crompton’s process leans on both: the warranty card to register, the invoice as proof of purchase, and both again, years later, for a fan fixed to the ceiling and a geyser bolted to the bathroom wall: products you stop thinking about the day they start working.

Crompton’s long terms make this harder, not easier. A 7-year tank warranty is only useful if you still have the bill in year six, and the warranty card probably went out with the box the week the geyser was installed. Even the status check needs a model code from a label you haven’t looked at since the product was fitted. And one geyser can carry three expiry dates.

This is a tracking problem, not a Crompton problem, and it multiplies across the house: a fan in every room, the geyser, the pump, the mixer, the chimney, each with its own invoice, model code and expiry date.

That is the gap Product7 is built to close. It’s a warranty and product tracker: you log each product once with its model number, serial, purchase date and invoice, and it keeps the proof of purchase attached to the product and reminds you when warranties, AMC or service windows are about to expire. So when the geyser leaks in year five, the bill and the model code for Crompton’s status check are one tap away, not lost in a drawer. It’s the same habit we recommend in the boAt warranty guide and cover in detail in our warranty tracker app rundown.

The short version

  • Crompton’s warranty runs from the date of purchase and varies by model: about 2 years on most fans, up to 5 on premium and BLDC fans, 1 year on coolers and most pumps.
  • Many products have split terms: a geyser’s tank, element and overall product, or a BLDC fan’s motor and PCB, expire on different dates.
  • To check it, enter the model code and purchase date under Check Warranty Status on crompton.co.in/pages/customer-care. It’s an estimate; the invoice is the proof.
  • To claim, register the product (OTP, warranty card upload), raise a Complaint service request, note the ticket ID, and track or escalate it.
  • Crompton’s published warranty terms exclude unauthorised installation or repair, misuse, lightning, abnormal water pressure, lime-scale and transit damage, and service is charged without the invoice or warranty card. Your warranty card has your product’s exact terms.
  • The one habit that makes all of this painless is keeping every invoice, model code and expiry date in one place, which is the whole point of a warranty tracker like Product7.

Keep the bill and the warranty card. The rest is easy.
