Investments

We back operators who refuse to grow slowly.

Operator-led capital from a studio that ships product. We know the work because we do it ourselves — and we move at the speed founders deserve.

In one line

Capital + operator leverage.

Pre-seed and seed cheques. Hands-on support after close. Distribution and product bandwidth most generalist funds can't match.

Investment themes

Where we lean in.

Four areas where MoonProduct's operating experience compounds the cheque.

Theme

AI-native consumer software

Products where AI is the substrate, not a feature — personal finance, content, productivity, health. We've built and shipped here.

Theme

B2B India SaaS

Tools sold into Indian SMBs, distributors, and service businesses. Where local context and feet on the ground matter as much as the product.

Theme

Manufacturing digitisation

Software for factories and supply chains — production tracking, quality, B2B commerce. Massive surface area, durable buyers, defensible distribution.

Theme

Hyperlocal commerce

Platforms enabling MSMEs and offline-first businesses to digitise without losing what made them work. Built for the long tail, not Tier-1 hubs.

Beyond the cheque

What we add when we invest.

Capital is necessary. It's rarely the differentiating thing.

Value-add

Operator perspective

We run eight products end-to-end. We know what it takes to build, ship, and scale because we're doing it. You get a partner who reads your roadmap as a peer, not as a spectator.

Value-add

In-house product studio

Pre-PMF founders often need design, engineering, or growth bandwidth they can't yet afford to hire. Our studio team can step in for portfolio companies on a structured basis.

Value-add

Distribution channels already built

MoonProduct ships to a community, an SEO surface, and an organic content engine. Portfolio companies get warm introductions and access to channels that took years to build.

Value-add

Speed and clarity

First call within a week. Decision in 2–4 weeks for clear yeses or noes. No ghosting. If we pass, you get a real reason — useful for the next conversation, not just for ours.

What good looks like

Founders we look for.

  • Operator-shaped founders who've shipped before, ideally in the domain they're founding in.
  • Distribution-aware teams — clear hypothesis on how the next 100 customers come, not just the first 10.
  • Capital discipline — every cheque buys runway and conviction, not optionality.
  • Products solving a problem you can describe in one sentence, to a customer you can name.

Honest signals

What earns a quick yes.

A clear customer, a working channel, a team that can ship, and a thoughtful answer to "why now."

Process

From pitch to close.

Every step has a timeline. No ghosting, no perpetual diligence.

Step 1

Pitch

Submit a deck or a Loom. Three sentences on the problem, the customer, and what's working. We respond within 5 business days.

Step 2

First call

30 minutes. We dig into the business, the user, and the team. You leave with a clear next step or a clear pass.

Step 3

Diligence

Customer calls, deeper work session with the team, references. Concentrated, not drawn out — usually 1–2 weeks.

Step 4

Term sheet & close

Standard SAFE or priced round. Typical close in 1–2 weeks once both sides are aligned.

Step 5

After the cheque

Monthly check-ins, on-call between, intros across our network and portfolio. Our job starts at close.

FAQ

Founder questions, answered.

What stage do you invest at?

Pre-seed and seed primarily. We'll consider seed extensions when our product or distribution can move the needle for a company beyond what generalist capital does.

What's your typical ticket size?

It depends on stage and round dynamics. We size to be useful — large enough to matter, small enough that we can write multiple cheques and follow on. Send the deck and we'll be specific quickly.

Do you lead or follow?

Both. We lead pre-seed for high-conviction bets and follow alongside trusted co-investors at seed. We'll always tell you upfront which posture we're taking.

Do you require a board seat?

Information rights yes. Board seat only when we lead. We're hands-on either way — the seat doesn't change how often we show up for you.

What sectors do you avoid?

Anything we can't add real value to beyond the cheque. So: deep-tech we don't understand, regulated industries that need specialist counsel we can't bring, and businesses where we'd be a passive line on the cap table.

How long does the process take?

First call within a week of pitch. From first call to term sheet, 2–4 weeks for clear yeses or noes. Longer for the in-betweens, but with constant communication — never silence.

Do you do follow-on rounds?

Yes, when the company hits the milestones we agreed at the first cheque. We reserve capital for follow-ons rather than treating each round as a fresh decision.

What do you bring beyond capital?

Operator perspective from running eight products, distribution access from MoonProduct's existing channels, in-house product studio bandwidth for go-to-market, and a network of operators we can introduce. The cheque is the smallest part of what we offer.

Where are you based and what geographies do you invest in?

India-first. We selectively look at India + SEA where the founding team has India links. We don't invest in geographies where we can't add value or reach the customer ourselves.

How is MoonProduct's investment arm different from its brand model?

Our investment arm puts capital into companies that other founders run. Our brand model is the opposite — we run the company and bring in capital partners as sponsors. Two distinct relationships, two distinct pages.
