How to check and claim your pTron warranty in India (2026)

pTron's warranty is 6 months under Rs 500 and 12 months above it, from the purchase date. How to check, register, and claim in India, step by step.

How to claim a pTron warranty in India: term, flow and what voids it A guide to claiming a pTron product warranty in India. First, check which term applies: products priced up to Rs 500 get 6 months from the date of purchase, and products above Rs 500 get 12 months. Then a three-step flow: step 1, keep the invoice as proof of purchase plus the serial number; step 2, raise a ticket on the pTron support portal and add the invoice and photos; step 3, get the product repaired or replaced, with a unit certified defective replaced only once. A red callout lists what voids the warranty: physical or water damage, no valid invoice, and unauthorised repair or seller. A closing strip notes that many pTron earbuds sit under Rs 500, so the window is only 6 months and the invoice is the only proof. How to claim a pTron warranty in India The term depends on the price — 6 or 12 months from the date of purchase First — check which term applies to your product Priced up to Rs 500 6 months Priced above Rs 500 12 months 1 Keep the invoice proof of purchase + serial number 2 Raise a ticket support.ptron.in add invoice + photos 3 Repair / replace certified defects replaced once What voids the warranty Physical or water damage No valid invoice Unauthorised repair or seller Your warranty is only as good as your invoice. Many pTron buds sit under Rs 500 — that’s just 6 months to keep the bill. Keep every invoice, price and expiry in one place, so nothing lapses. Terms vary by product · always confirm the period on your invoice and warranty card.

pTron is one of India’s biggest budget audio and wearables brands — the earbuds that sell by the truckload at under a thousand rupees — which means a lot of people are trying to work out the same thing at the same time: a bud stops charging, a neckband dies on one side, a smartwatch screen goes dark, and the search that follows is some version of “ptron warranty check” or “ptron warranty claim”. The honest answer is shorter than most pages make it, but pTron has one twist that trips people up more than any other brand. This is the working guide.

The single most important fact up front: pTron’s warranty period depends on what you paid. Products priced up to Rs 500 get 6 months from the date of purchase; products above Rs 500 get 12 months. It covers manufacturing defects only, and — like every warranty — it is only worth anything if you still have the invoice. Everything else is downstream of those two facts.

How to check your pTron warranty status

Here is the thing almost every “ptron warranty check” search gets wrong: there is no magic lookup where you punch in a serial number and pTron tells you how many months you have left. That tool does not exist for consumers.

What actually determines your status is one date — the date on your invoice — plus the correct term. And the correct term is where pTron differs from most brands. So the practical check is:

  • Find your invoice (Amazon/Flipkart order, ptron.in order, or the retail bill).
  • Read the price and the purchase date.
  • Add 6 months if the product cost up to Rs 500, or 12 months if it cost more.
  • If today is inside that window and the fault is a manufacturing defect, you have a claim.

pTron does let you register a product at ptron.in/apps/product-registration using its serial number, and for serialised products the serial is printed on the box or device. But registration is optional — it does not extend your cover and it is not a prerequisite to claiming. It mainly keeps your details on file. The warranty clock still runs from the invoice date whether you register or not.

If you have already raised a claim, you can track that ticket through pTron’s support portal using your ticket number. That shows the progress of an open claim — it does not tell you whether an un-claimed product is still in warranty. For that, the invoice date is the only source of truth.

This is exactly why the invoice matters so much. Your warranty is not stored against your face or your phone number in a way you can query; it is stored on a piece of paper (or a PDF in an inbox) that you have to produce on demand.

pTron warranty period by product type

For the vast majority of pTron products, the term is set purely by price, and it applies across the categories most people are asking about:

  • TWS earbuds, earphones and neckbands — the Bassbuds line, Tangent neckbands, wired earphones and similar.
  • Smartwatches — the Reflect and Force wearable lines.
  • Speakers and other audio — Bluetooth speakers and home audio.

Two honest caveats worth internalising. First, the Rs 500 threshold is the hinge: a lot of pTron earbuds sit right around that price, so a cheaper pair may carry only 6 months while a slightly pricier one carries 12. Check which side of the line your invoice falls on — do not assume a year. Second, the warranty covers manufacturing defects only. It is not an accidental-damage plan and it is not a no-questions replacement.

There is one more pTron-specific detail: accessories are excluded. pTron’s terms are explicit that add-ons such as ear-hooks, ear-caps and USB charging cables carry no warranty. So a frayed cable or a lost ear-tip is on you, even in month one.

So the rule is simple: confirm the price band and the purchase date on your own invoice, and treat the warranty card in the box as authoritative for your specific unit — not a blog, and not a helpline agent’s memory.

How to claim your pTron warranty, step by step

The claim itself is an online-first process. You do not need to walk into a service centre to start it.

  1. Find your invoice and serial number. The invoice must show the seller’s name, the date and place of purchase, and a GST number. For serialised products, note the serial number on the box or device as well.
  2. Confirm the term and that you are still inside it. Price up to Rs 500 means 6 months; above Rs 500 means 12. If you are outside the window, the claim will be treated as out of warranty, not a free repair.
  3. Register the complaint on pTron support. Open a ticket at support.ptron.in, or email [email protected]. For an offline purchase you can also go back to the same retail store or partner you bought from.
  4. Attach the invoice and describe the fault. pTron asks for the purchase order, bill or invoice plus product images along with the complaint. Add clear photos or a short video and a specific description — “left bud won’t charge past 0%” beats “not working”.
  5. Get your ticket number and dispatch on time. You receive a ticket to track, usually acknowledged within about 48 hours. If a replacement is approved, dispatch the unit within the working-day window stated in pTron’s email — missing it can forfeit the replacement.
  6. Track it to resolution. Follow up through the support portal or call 040-67138888 (Mon–Sat, 10am–7pm). Once inspected and certified defective, the unit is repaired or replaced; a product damaged beyond repair is replaced only once during the warranty period, typically within about 7 to 12 working days after the quality check.

That is the whole flow. The friction is almost never in the steps — it is in step 1.

Common reasons pTron warranty claims fail

Most rejected claims are not rejected because pTron is difficult. They are rejected because the product hit one of the exclusions written into the warranty terms. The big ones:

  • No valid proof of purchase. Without a valid invoice, pTron can refuse the claim. Lost invoice, lost claim. This is the number-one reason people lose an otherwise-valid warranty.
  • Accidental or physical damage. A cracked casing, a snapped hinge, a bent connector, a screen broken by a drop — physical damage is excluded, whether accidental or intentional.
  • Water or liquid damage. Sweat, rain, a washing-machine accident. Even sweat- or splash-resistant ratings are not a licence for immersion, and damage from water exposure is not covered.
  • Bought from an unauthorised seller. pTron’s warranty applies to units bought through its authorised channels. A grey-market or unauthorised-seller purchase can leave you with no cover at all.
  • A defaced or altered serial number. If the identification cannot be verified on inspection, the warranty is void. Do not peel the serial sticker off the device or the box.
  • Self-repair or unauthorised service. If the device has been opened, tampered with, or repaired by anyone outside pTron’s authorised network, cover is void. A cheap local fix today can forfeit the warranty entirely.
  • Wear and tear, misuse and acts of nature. Ordinary ageing, misuse and neglect, and damage from floods, fire or earthquakes all sit outside the manufacturing-defect cover — as do the excluded accessories.

Read that list once and the pattern is obvious: the warranty protects you against the factory getting it wrong, not against the world happening to the product. Keep the device intact, keep the serial readable, and keep the invoice.

The real problem: you’ll lose the invoice before it breaks

Notice how many of the failure modes above come back to one document. pTron’s warranty is essentially a bet that, months after purchase, you can still produce the exact invoice for a Rs 600 pair of earbuds you bought on a whim between two other orders.

Most people lose that bet — and pTron’s pricing makes the bet harder, not easier. Because so many products sit near the Rs 500 line, a big share of them carry only a 6-month window. That is half the time to forget where the bill went, and half the time before the warranty silently lapses. You don’t get a reminder the day before it runs out; you find out only when something breaks and it’s already too late.

This is a tracking problem, not a pTron problem — and it multiplies across every gadget you own. The pTron buds, the phone, the mixer-grinder, the router, the smartwatch: each has its own invoice, its own serial, its own expiry date, all scattered across inboxes and drawers. Nobody’s memory holds that, least of all the exact price band that decides whether you had 6 months or 12.

That is the gap Product7 is built to close. It’s a warranty and product tracker: you log each product once with its purchase date, price, invoice and warranty period, and it keeps the proof of purchase attached to the product and tells you when cover is about to end. So when the left earbud dies in month five, you already know it’s still in warranty, and the invoice is one tap away instead of one frantic inbox search away. The claim above — find the invoice, confirm the term, raise the ticket — collapses from a scavenger hunt into a two-minute job. The same habit works for the boAt warranty guide and every other brand you own, which is the whole idea behind a warranty tracker app.

The short version

  • pTron’s warranty is 6 months up to Rs 500 and 12 months above Rs 500, from the purchase date, covering manufacturing defects only.
  • To check it, there’s no serial lookup — read the invoice date and price, and add the matching term. Registration at ptron.in is optional.
  • To claim, open a ticket at support.ptron.in or email [email protected], attach the invoice and photos, get a ticket number, and dispatch the unit on time; expect roughly 7 to 12 working days after the quality check.
  • Claims fail on physical or water damage, a missing invoice, an unauthorised-seller purchase, a defaced serial, or unauthorised repair — and accessories aren’t covered at all.
  • The one habit that makes all of this painless is keeping every invoice, price and expiry in one place — which is the whole point of a warranty tracker like Product7.

Keep the bill. Note the price band. The rest is easy.
